Hello friends!!!

I am back with another Book Outlet book haul. I think this is the third time I have purchased from Book Outlet during their $5.99 book sale, and honestly, it’s one of the best times to get the books that you want at a really good price. The books will likely have some minor damage and usually will have some kind of marker dot or line on the bottom edge of the book. This is the nature of books that were returned from retailers that were then sold in bulk to places like Book Outlet to be given new homes.

With all that said, let’s get into the books!

Note: This is not sponsored or anything. I just like saving money on buying books.

Book One

The Book: Broken Souls and Bones by LJ Andrews

The Damage: Nothing that I can see. This one doesn’t even have a marker dot on the bottom edge. 10/10!

The Why: This book cover pulled me in. The plot seems interesting with the main character trying to escape an “honored” position under the King, which is apparently not so sweet. Also, a brooding bodyguard.

Book Two

The Book: Daughter of No Worlds by Carissa Broadbent

The Damage: Minor bending on the dust jacket near the corners. The spine looks a little bit dented.

The Why: I have seen this cover so many times, and genuinely, that is the main reason. I am intrigued. I want to know what this book is about before even reading the synopsis.

Book Three

The Book: A Deal with a Debutante by Chelsea Bobulski

The Damage: The top of the spine has a bit of a dent and there is a permanent marker line on the bottom edge of the book.

The Why: I’m always looking for more Historical Romance to read. This one seemed really cute and it doesn’t have real people on the cover! I love that!

Book Four

The Book: The Enchanted Greenhouse by Sarah Beth Durst

The Damage: Part of the dust cover is crinkled and there is a black permanent marker dot on the bottom of the book.

The Why: I read the first book in this series and absolutely loved it. I was so excited to be able to get the second book in hardcover to match my other book.

Book Five

The Book: The Nightblood Prince by Molly X. Chang

The Damage: Just a single red marker dot on the bottom page edge. Other than that, she’s beautiful!

The Why: This is one where the cover pulled me in on the website but the summary sealed the deal. This sounds like a fantastic book. I’ve never read anything by this author and I haven’t seen it floating around on social media. Color me intrigued.

Book Six

The Book: Blackthorn by J.T. Geissinger

The Damage: There is damage to the page edges on the bottom. Minor damage to the right corners.

The Why: I’ve been thinking about picking this one up for a while. I have friends who really like this author and I just thought, now is the time to give it a try.

Book Seven

The Book: This Monster of Mine by Shalini Abeysekara

The Damage: Absolutely none. This book is in a condition that I would pay full price for.

The Why: This book summary gave me dark and gritty with judicial systems that are steeped in magic. It is giving forbidden romance and mystery. I absolutely have to give this book a try. Also, the cover. Beautiful.

Book Eight

The Book: A Dirty Job by Christopher Moore

The Damage: A few small dents and a permanent marker line on the bottom edge of the pages.

The Why: How could I ever say no to this cover? The summary makes it seem a little silly and goofy. Maybe some of that awkward British humour like Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy vibes but instead of Arther going to space he becomes Death. It just seems good.

Book Nine

The Book: To Bleed a Crystal Bloom by Sarah A. Parker

The Damage: Just a single black line on the beautiful sprayed edges. Heartbreaking but tolerable.

The Why: I really enjoyed When The Moon Hatched by this author. This is also a Rapunzel reimagining and I thought that would be a refreshing change from all of the Beauty and the Beast reimaginings I’ve seen around. I have some high hopes.

Book Ten

The Book: Hunt on Dark Waters by Katee Robert

The Damage: Small bend in a few of the pages but nothing a couple days under a dictionary won’t help.

The Reason: It’s a pirate romance. It’s also on the shorter side so I know this can probably be completed in a day. Mostly, it’s a pirate romance.

Book Eleven

The Book: The Nanny’s Handbook for Magic and Managing Difficult Dukes by Amy Rose Bennett.

The Damage: Small tear to the top edge of the cover near the spine. A dot and a line of marker on the bottom edge (rude).

The Reason: More Historical Romance! Also, it’s Historical Romance with magic nannies! What more could I ask for?

Book Twelve

The Book: Spiderlight by Adrian Tchaikovsky

The Damage: None! I love it when that happens. Not even a mark on the bottom. What a win.

The Reason: I don’t know. Genuinely. I’ve seen this author around previously and I just like the atmosphere of the cover but as to why I added it to my cart, the jury is out.

That’s all of the books! Yes, I bought 12 books at once. Even worse, I had some pre-orders I forgot about come in this month as well as a handful of books from different book boxes I’m trying out. My shelving situation is currently dire and I desperately need to read more of my books I already own. End of the year, I definitely will need to do an unhaul.

Overall, the damage to each book was minimal and when I’m paying only $5.99 for each book (hardcover or paperback), I’m not going to complain that much. They do also have a policy about books that arrived and have an unusual amount of damage. I’ve never had this problem so far but they do have something about it. Which is nice.

That’s going to wrap it up this week! I’m working on another ARC and making my way through it very slowly. I have one more ARC to read after that in order to get caught up. I would also like to try and take a day off to just read and relax but I’m not sure when I’ll be able to do that.

Until next time!

Bye friends!!!
