Hello friends!!!

Welcome to 2026! We are a whole 4 days in now, and it’s already crazy, but that’s not what I like to focus on with this blog post. I realize that I have already sort of done a 2025 reflection with goals for 2026, but I haven’t had a chance to provide the full stats of how my 2025 went, and that’s what we are here for now! I’ll also update you on how the year is going so far (after the 4 days we have had).

So let’s get into it!

So, just a quick recap here. I started this blog in March, so you probably don’t know much about how I did for the first two months of the year. The answer is: about the same as the rest! For December, I only ended up finishing one book, and I did not end up meeting my ultimate goal, but I am still quite happy with the progress I made!

There are a couple of things I see when looking at this. I started way more series than I finished. This is part of the reason why I made series completion a focus for 2026. I selected a handful of series that I have started to try to complete in 2026. I also read way more physical books than I do e-books, and I purchased way more than I unhauled. I could definitely use a good unhaul sometime, but I think I’ll save that for more of a spring cleaning type of situation. I also plan on saving up for a new e-reader that is not a Kindle, but I do still have my Kindle app on my phone, so I might make more of an effort to try and read some of those books I have on there. I tend to not remember the e-books because I don’t physically see them.

Overall, I’m pretty happy with how my reading went in 2025. It was the first year in a while where I really tried to make it a focus and get back into the habit. I would still like to improve on that and read more, but we will see how that goes. Small steps are still steps.

I’m excited for 2026, and so far it’s gone quite well. I have finished the third book in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series (which I had started in 2025), and I also completed a short novel as part of the Buzzword Challenge I am doing. I am also currently participating in the StoryGraph challenge to read every single day in January. So far, I have managed to do that, although at the time of this post, I have yet to do my reading for today. I’ll do it though! I promise! I haven’t done a lot in regard to the social aspect of StoryGraph yet, but I’m looking at exploring it some more.

That’s it for this week my friends. I know they’ve been rather short lately but I should have some more reviews coming to you soon. I have applied for a few ARCs on NetGalley, so I’ll let you know how those go. If I get approved for any, they will probably take precedence over what I am currently reading so that I can get a timely review out to the author.
