Monthly Reading Wrap-up: October – November TBR Plan

Hello friends!!!

Another month has come and gone and pretty soon we will be doing the yearly wrap-up. That’s crazy. Last month was a bit of an emotional train-wreck and it ended with me working 10-11 hour shifts at work for the last week to try and meet a deadline (so fun). Needless to say, reading took a backseat and I only read a few books and didn’t have the greatest time with them. Not a win for me for October.

I am still actively working on my book journal set-up for 2026. I would like to try to get that out to you all in November. I also have a new series (collection? I’m not sure this is the right word) of blog posts I’m working on and I should get the first one out at the end of November. So it’s going to be a full month for me blog wise but that’s okay! Hopefully you all enjoy it!

Lets get into the stats.

November is going to be an interesting month in regards to the TBR because you’ve probably already seen all of the books I’m about to list off. I have a unique situation happening right now where I have 3 books that are “in progress”. I have started three different books from varying months and ended up putting them all on pause. When considering what I was going to do for this blog post I thought, let’s focus on these paused books and finish those! Because of all of this, I’m going to switch up how I normally list my TBR Picks this month. What fun!

The Devils by Joe Abercrombie

I started this book 2 months ago. I know. What am I doing? To be honest, I keep thinking about picking it back up to read and then life keeps going “haha you wish” and then I’m just sad. I want to finish this book. I don’t even think I’m halfway through but thankfully I somehow remember what has happened so far (which is honestly surprising for me).

The Housemaid by Frieda McFadden

I started this last month I believe and I actually started it on audio. I keep trying audiobooks and I keep not finishing them. That should be a sign. Good news is, I also have the physical copy of this book and I think that is how I’m going to finish it. I love the convenience of an audiobook but I find that it’s difficult for me to listen to the audiobook while doing other stuff. I’m about 15% of the way through this one and I hear good things about the twists in this one so I might just get it done first. I feel like it’s one I can read relatively easily.

A House with Good Bones by T. Kingfisher

This is the most recent book I have started and it’s by one of my favorite authors. This is a spooky creepy book and I have enjoyed it. It’s one I’ve been reading for maybe a few minutes before bed each night while working these long shifts. It’s not a super long book but I’m not reading a lot at a time hence why I haven’t finished it yet. My bad.

So that’s the end of this blog post! Hopefully, I’ll have better news for you throughout November but who knows! Life is funny that way sometimes. I’ll see you all again next week!

Bye friends!!
