Hello friends!!!
I am back! I’m sorry for missing last week. My boyfriend was sick for a week and then I was sick for a week and it was just a fun couple weeks of illness. I had the joyous pounding headache, with a sore throat and sinus pressure and with that sinus pressure, the ability to read went right out the window. Needless to say, my monthly reading wrap-up this month is a bit sad and I’m kind of disappointed, but I have a plan for my TBR that I hope will make me feel a bit better.
I am also working on my book journal for next year and hope to have some blog posts about that coming up!
I am currently still reading The Devils by Joe Abercrombie. I think I’m about 1/3 of the way through it and I’m genuinely enjoying it, I just haven’t had a lot of reading time. I also picked up the audiobook for The Housemaid by Freida McFadden, which I’ve been enjoying during times where I’m just doing some housework. I have a hard time with audiobooks normally, but thrillers might be the way to go for that. We’ll see!

So as we know, I am currently “In Progress” on two books. Hopefully, those books will get finished this month with no issues. I also have a plan to help me feel better about the lack of books I’ve been able to complete. Honestly, it’s a bit of a bummer and I’d like to have some wins in my pocket.
So!
Here is the plan. I’m going to find a handful of my shorter books and read those. That’s it.
Okay, so it isn’t much of a plan, but I do have a few shorter books that I’ve been waiting to read and I figured it would be the best way to find an easy win. I recently did a full catalog of what I own for books (minus my special editions from book boxes). Looking through that, I’ll see what I can find for my shorter books and then hopefully, try and keep it to the spooky side of things (it being October and all).
In the end, I decided to keep each book under 300 pages, which was weirdly difficult to find. I determined I’ve actually already read the majority of my books under 200 pages and a lot of my books are 400+. In order to keep it more possible for me to actually finish the books I’ve selected this month, I wanted to keep the books under 300 pages long. Like I said before, I’m looking for an easy win.
The books are:

126 pages

259 pages

249 pages
Hopefully! I’ll be able to make some headway on those and also finish the other ones (awkward laughter). I am excited to read another T. Kingfisher book and I’ve been interested in the cover for Graveyard Shift for a very long time. I’ll let you all know what ends up happening.
In the future, I will try to make an announcement when there is going to be a missed blog post. I really do not want to get into the habit of missing weekends where I only post once a week, but sometimes life gets in the way.
Have you read any of these books? Leave your thoughts in the comments! Until next time,
Bye friends!!!
