March Reading Wrap-up

So, it was a slow reading month for me it seems. I’ve been quite busy between just creating this blog and other just…living things, I couldn’t read as much as I wanted. That’s okay though! There’s always next month!

As always, lets looks at some stats!!

The March Stats

These stats are taken directly from my reading journal and I try to update them the first of each month, for the previous month. These are only for books completed during the month as well. So if I start a book in March, but finish it in April, it counts towards April’s stats.

As you can see, there isn’t a ton happening here. I have added another series to my list of series and unfortunately it’s a series that is 9 books long. On the bright side, it’s Historical Romance and I tend to breeze through those pretty quickly. I also am not surprised by the physical book count being the same as the total book count. I tend to gravitate towards physical books more than I do digital. I am also considering replacing my Kindle with a Kobo or something similar. I have an Oasis, which they don’t even make anymore, and I really liked having those buttons on the side to change my pages. Also, the whole not letting you download your books anymore thing kinda made me wanna switch.

But what are the two books I read you ask?!

I read two very different books. The first one is A Dark and Drowning Tide by Allison Saft. You can read my review of this book HERE. This book was a slight departure from my typical book picks but the cover artwork just pulled me in. I haven’t read a lot in the more academic fantasy type of genre, but I’m not mad at it by any means. I think I’ll have to look at more of Allison Saft’s books because I did enjoy how she wrote this one. I’d be interested to see how she writes a different narrator.

The second book I read was Someone to Love by Mary Balogh. I haven’t yet done my review on this book (I’m currently in the process of putting my thoughts together on it). This is a lovely historical romance and includes the more aloof and uncaring Duke with a woman who was recently brought into a noble household, having grown up as an orphan her whole life. I absolutely love the female main character in this one and I hope she makes side appearances in the subsequent books in the series.

That’s all she wrote for the moment! If you want to, feel free to check out my Series Page or the link to my post about my April TBR. Currently, I’m working on When the Moon Hatched by Sarah A. Parker, which is definitely seen quite often on TikTok. That can be a good or a bad thing so I’m trying to go into it with no preconceived notions (when I can).
